In a move that’s sure to turn heads, Will Smith, the acclaimed actor and musician, has been announced as a headliner for Spain’s Dreambeach Festival. Set to take place from August 7-10 at Villaricos Beach, this marks a surprising foray into the EDM world for the Oscar-winning star.
While Smith’s musical past is well-documented, with his iconic ’90s rap hits alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff, his appearance at a festival primarily featuring electronic artists is unexpected. He joins a diverse lineup that includes EDM heavyweights Steve Aoki and Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello. Other notable artists performing at Dreambeach 2025 include Nicky Romero, Subtronics, Sub Focus, Space Laces, Dimension, Showtek, and EDM.com Class of 2023 artist Indira Paganotto.
This announcement comes on the heels of Smith’s revelation of his first album in two decades, “Based on a True Story,” slated for release in March via SLANG Recordings. Hints of an electronic music influence on the album emerged last summer when Smith was spotted in Ibiza, reportedly “working on new music, drawing inspiration from the dance scene on the island.”
Tickets for Dreambeach 2025 are on sale now. For the full lineup and more information, visit the festival’s website.
